 
Brown was named Head Coach and Director of Operations of the NBA Developmental League Team Springfield Armor on July 29, 2009. He will oversee all basketball operations, player development and player personnel decisions for the organization.
Brown was the co-host on "Full Court Press", a daily NBA Talk Show on Sirius Satellite Radio. Previously he was an NBA Analyst on ESPN, ESPN News and the NBA Fastbreak Show which airs on ESPN 2. He was the recent winner of the ESPN Show “Dream Job 3”. He is also the host of ESPN Original Entertainment Show “City Slam” , a show that travels around the country to find the best street ball dunkers in America.
On May 3, 2008, Brown was inducted into the Jacksonville University Athletics Hall of Fame.
Brown is the CEO and President of Deelightful Inc., which is the parent company that oversees all business entities, speaking engagement and appearances.
On October 11, 2005, Brown was hired by the Orlando Magic as Community Ambassador. In his support of the organization, Dee made community appearances, working on feature and special assignments with broadcasting and will be a member of the organizations speakers' bureau.
On October 30, 2003, Brown was named Head Coach for the WNBA San Antonio Silver Stars.
Brown was previously serving as the Director of Player Development for the Orlando Magic, which he began on November 29, 2002. Dee worked closely with the Basketball and Business Operations departments in overseeing all of the player programs and also provided leadership support to the organization and team's basketball players as it related to both organizational goals and player development.
On April 5, 2002, Brown was named Head Coach and General Manager for the WNBA Orlando Miracle. In his first season as head coach of the Orlando Miracle, Brown directed the team to a 16-16 record and tied the franchise record for most wins in a season.
Prior to joining the Miracle Basketball Operations staff, Brown joined the Orlando Magic corporate office as Special Assistant to Orlando Magic Operations, where he worked closely with the basketball operations, marketing, corporate sales, community relations and broadcasting departments.
The Jacksonville native, a 1990 first round draft pick (19th overall), spent two seasons with the Orlando Magic, three years with the Toronto Raptors and seven seasons with the Boston Celtics. Throughout his NBA career, Brown averaged 11.1 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.7 apg and led the NBA in three-point field goals made (135) and attempted (349) during the 1998-99 campaign. He also was crowned Slam Dunk champion at the 1991 NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte .
In 1990, he was named to the 1990-91 NBA All-Rookie First Team after averaging 8.7 ppg and 4.2 apg for the Boston Celtics. Brown saw action in 31 playoff games, and averaged 10.3 ppg, 3.6 apg and 2.8 rpg.
Brown is on the Advisory Board for the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches. He is a partner with Beacon Six LLC, the group that owns the upscale restaurants such as The Beacon and Stardust Lounge in Thorton Park, a Special Limited Partner with Grace Venture Partners, a firm which specializes in providing equity financing for the commercialization of military technologies. Brown also serves on the Board of Directors for the UCF Foundation, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida and the National Advisory Board for the DeVos Sport Management Program at the University of Central Florida and is involved in numerous of local charities including his own foundation EDGE for Kids, Inc. and was named a YMCA 2002 Black Achiever. |
